A Christian is known by their fruit
Recently, I had a discussion with a friend of mine. He was discussing the mess an acquaintance of his was in. While he refrained from telling me the details, he made a point of informing me that "no wonder she’s in such a mess with the sin in her life."
On another blog, I watched as a Christian decimated the character of another Christian because of a disagreement. The blog owner simply cannot refrain from attempting to destroy the character of another.
On another site, a Christian discussion board, I watched three or four Christians go at each other for the entire world to read. It was shameful!
I too have been guilty on my very own blog. I made a very unkind remark at the end of my post on "reverend." It stayed up two days before I finally removed the remark. The remark was not necessary to the point I was trying to make, it simply was mean spirited. In fact, I shall change the title for the end of the title is unkind.
Christians seem to be very good at identifying sin – and unfortunately the sin they love to identify is others. Once it’s identified, watch out. They publically name the person they are disparaging with their words and their contempt and in the next breath declare themselves to be a follower of the Holy God.
Is this what I am doing right now? I do not think so. I name no one; I identify no discussion site nor leave any identifying details that can identify any one person. I simply have discussed injurious behavior within the body of Christ. And most astonishing is that when sinful behavior is brought to the attention of Christians, the most laughable excuses are offered up. I heard one person declare that they are not where they should be in their walk in justification of their behavior of gossip and decimation of another’s character. It boils down to they simply do not wish to stop. Another person recently told me in an attempt to excuse a fabrication on an application that they had to lie in order to guarantee the application and that the Lord would deal with him on that at some other time.
We are known by our fruit and corporately, there is not much difference in our corporate fruit than those that Christians speak against.
Before we take the splinter out of someone else’s eye, we should be working on removing the plank in our own eyes. Corporately, Christians excel at locating the splinters in others. We need to be identified by our fruit but corporately our fruit is not looking so good right now.

Tishrei,
Well, Blog Lady T., there’s really no beating human nature without the Lord working it out of us supernaturally. I had come to the slow painful conclusion that one of the worst places to be is on a Christian discussion board.
In Christ,
Kent
