Recommend – Jonathan Settel

Recommend

I thought I would do something a little different this Saturday.  I wanted to recommend one of my favorite Christian performers – well, it’s a little bit different.  Jonathan Settel is a Messianic worship performer.  He is a Jewish believer that names Christ as his Lord and his worship music reflect his Jewish roots.  The name of his ministry is Jonathan Settel International Ministries.  Just click on the link and you will be taken to his site.  Below is one of his worship songs titled Shabbat Shalom.

      Hi Liz,

It is translated at the bottom of the screen. You can read along, kind of like a subtitled movie. Yeah, I do understand it but I would be summarizing instead of a word-for-word translation since it’s somewhat long and too difficult for me to do a word-for-word translation.

      EDIT

OY to me. I was replying to the Arabic one (at least I thought I was). Sorry about that. I do understand a tiny bit of Hebrew but not much. Shabbat Shalom basically means (and this is is a rough translation) — have a peaceful Sabbath. Shalom means peace and Shabbat is the word for Sabbath.

    Tishrei,

Thank you for sharing this….. I don’t know Hebrew, but was able to understand Sabbath peace and something about peace in Jerusalem….. He has a wonderful voice and I love the Jewish style of music….. It has a good sound to it and rhythm.

    Margaret
