Thank you!

I would like to thank everybody who sent me blog awards.  It’s an honor that you have felt this blog worthy to receive an award.

I have not been putting them up on my blog and I would like to explain why.  I am a minimalist, and in fact, I have been removing items off my side bar.  I have been removing items off my side bar and even removed a photo of my beloved macaw.  Please do not think I am ungrateful or unappreciative for this honor.  It really is an honor to receive the blog awards.

During my year of blogging, I have redesigned this blog several times including minimizing the side bar to just a few items.  My desire is to keep the blog focused on Christ and not on me or any awards that I may receive.

But really, I would like to thank everyone who sent me awards.  I really, really do appreciate it.

I thought I was signing up for free magazines.

It’s nice that folks enjoy what your sharing and an award is nice. However, concerning blogs such as this one we really should stay humble and I for one welcome this announcement as too often we allow polarization to take place the message becomes diluted and not the focus, rather we ourselves become the focus. And anytime your dealing with scripture we just need to let the gospel take front & center.

So congrats on the awards and congrats on humbling yourself.

      Reverent1,

      Thanks for your kind words.

I went through a stage where I had a lot of stuff on my side bar. I’ve now been blogging for a little over a year and during this latter part of my blogging, I’ve scaled down my side bar considerably. I’m trying to keep it focused on Christ. I have another blog where I have fun and don’t care what my side bar looks like.

Great point about staying humble. I see that in my friend Tishrei and the people who post here, and I think it makes a noticeable, positive impression.

        Thanks Kent *blushing*

Yeah, I agree with you, the folks that post on here are really great and make an incredibly positive impression and the light of the Gospel clearly shines in in the posts of those folks posting here.

That’s the upside to my experience on discussion groups — I learned what I do not want.
