About
I started this blog to – well, share my insights for whoever wishes to read them, about the world in which we live and share my personal bible studies. I also enjoy writing about Christian topics. Most of my blog posts will be related to Christianity for that is my main interest as it defines who I am, my worldview, how I view politics and my outlook on life. I was not always a Christian nor was I brought-up in a Christian home (Why I left Islam). I have been a Christian since 1984.
I chose Fruit of the Word as the title to my blog as the scriptures speak about the fruit that a Christian produces as a result of their redemption. Christ died and rose again for the purpose of redemption and Christians are the fruit of Christ’s agonizing. I hope and pray that the fruit that comes from this blog is pleasing to my Redeemer.
I make no claim to being a theologian nor a bible teacher for I am not. These postings are simply my own personal bible studies and certainly are not authoritative. Twice I have now lost my personal information on my hard drive (I need to learn to backup my work) and should that happen again, all my work will be here.
So thank you WordPress!! Since my venture into blogging my personal bible studies, I have learned how much I have come to enjoy blogging. I have created another blog where I am posting my thoughts or opinions on a variety of subject. It’s my way to journal and to keep alive memories that will not be lost when my hard drive crashes. That site is at my WordPress Hodgepodge blog.
My theological persuasion is as a monergist (as opposed to a synergist) which, in its simplest form is the doctrine that the God acts independently of the human will in the work of regeneration. Most may understand synergism to be synonymous with Arminianism while Monergism may be understood by many to be synonymous with Calvinism. I like to make the distinction of being an adherent to a doctrine rather being an adherent or a follower of a person or their teaching.
Other than being of the monergist persuasion as a born again Christian, I am a literalist in my reading of scripture (unless, of course, it is obvious that a literal reading is inappropriate). While I recognize and appreciate that many within the body of Christ are of a different persuasion theologically, my blog posts will have these beliefs as my source or foundation for understanding the Word of God. It is through this monergist ‘looking glass’ in how I read the Word of God.
Blogging has become a means of communicating with many people that we otherwise would not have an opportunity to share with. For anyone that reads my blog and gains something from it, that’s great! Any comments that are left, I too will gain something even if to tell me how wrong I am.
“If the guilt of sin is so great that nothing can satisfy it but the blood of Jesus; and the filth of sin is so great that nothing can fetch out the stain thereof but the blood of Jesus, how great, how heinous, how sinful must the evil of sin be.” WILLIAM BRIDGE
